XP SP3
Speaking of honesty, I screwed up in the last PatchWatch column in WindowsSecrets.com regarding the gdiplus.dll issue with XP sp3. In the content I said that you might be reoffered 08-067. I had conflicker on the brain that night. The messed up patch is 08-052 not 08-067. No excuse I should have checked the Patch numbers better than I did. Look for a mea culpa and apology in the next edition. Also I’ll be talking about the mysterious WinSxS folder and how it’s okay if you have 4 million copies of files in there (okay that’s a joke but truly if you have more than one copy of gdiplus.dll in there it’s okay) * MS08-052 - Critical - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-052.mspx - Reason for Revision: V4.0 (March 10, 2009): Added entry in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Related to this Security Update section to communicate the rerelease of the update packages for Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 to fix an installation issue.
