FYI…if you have Unix systems that are unable to work correctly against a Windows 2008 DC – there is a hotfix (slated for SP3) that may correct the issue (it did for us). http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;968140 In our case, it applies as we did do an authoritative restore of AD many years ago – so while the article talks about the restore on a 2008 domain – it actually applies for any prior AD domain (2000 or 2003) when the restore would have been performed.
