Error Code Ox643 when installing Update KB953297 in Windows XP Hom

I have found the recommended solution at [link] but am a bit reluctant to remove the programs relating to .NET Framework. In my program listing I have 3 references to .NET Framework: Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB928366)
