Essential Business Server management server .net updates failed

I continue to get failure messages from the update manager when trying to update the Microsoft .NET 3.5 service pack 1 and .NET framework family update (KB951847 x64) What I get is a failure message which is not very helpful. Error(s) found: Code 80070643 Windows Update encountered and unknown error.
