RE: Win XP Updates fail to install

Hi Tom, I stumbled on to this resolution after doing the same things you did with the same result–updates did not install. Problem description: A required system file is not registered correctly. Resolution: Re-register Windows Update DLL with the commands below 1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
