Search Companion not working

also Windows update is not accessable. Other webpages are fine. Error I get is “A file that is required for Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup”. Did that and it did not help. Found a few things on the web in regards to this, but nothing that has helped. They were: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319949 And this one: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm under “Why doesn’t search work?”. Anyone have any thoughts on this one?
