Security Patches Included in Microsoft Update ???

Are the new security updates/patches issued with the Microsoft Security Bulletins on the second Tuesday of each month automatically included in Microsoft Update? The reason I ask is because I recently ran an online scan (Panda Activescan 2.0) prior to installing SP3 and was informed that 19 “vulnerabilities” were
