Spiceworks or other software for IT consulting?

Posted on Tuesday, 9 December 2008No Comment

I have a thought on Spiceworks that I am interested in people’s
thoughts on. The method I have planned for a network I am doing is to
have a file server sitting in the clients location that will be running
Spiceworks. I will have Spiceworks set to e-mail me upon any specific
conditions that are met such as low disk space, specific software
loaded, and teh such. Once I receive an e-mail, I can investigate tehe
issue and contact teh client to either remote in to solve the issue or
schedule a time for me to come to thier location. I have also loaded
LogMeIn Free on the file server so I can remote in to run reports or
check on the system itself. For the clients, I am planning on using
HelpDesk VNC.

This is sort of my Managed Sevices on the cheap model. Not quite a
full managed services in that I still have to manually install patches
and the such. Michael6991 — IT Service Provider — Reply
