Windows Update trouble

I have Windows XP. My computer keeps telling me that I have updates to install. When I go through the steps, it states that “they are being installed”. Afterward, it states that they could not be installed. It lists 4 of them: KB951748; KB942763; KB951978; and KB890830. When I review my installation history, it states that the last one (KB890830) was installed
