Windows Vista machine asking to install Windows XP Service Pack 3

Hi.. I have Windows Vista Basic Home. I keep getting a message saying there are new Windows Updates to install. But the only one being recommended is Windows XP Service Pack 3. Why? I tried to install but, unsurprising, installation failed.. yet I still keep being prompted to install it. What
