WSUS

Although WSUS is a solid solution there are also “third party” solutions that work to perform these same functions in a much more robust process and with tons more reporting features…Microsoft purchased Windows updates from a company called SHAVLIK….they make a product called HFNetcheck which does everything WSUS does just on steriods! Granular control, tons of reporting features and central administration for as many machines as you license wherever they reside in the world…Yes, it does cost money but…definately a good option if able to afford it.
