I am having a problem installing Vista SP2 on a laptop. The laptop is an HP with Vista Home Premium SP1 originally installed. When I try to install SP2, (either from Microsoft Update or downloaded manually), I get the message that SP1 is not installed.

This helped me! When I upgraded to Internet Explorer 8, I got stuck in a Check for Updates loop. I previously tried changing all my Active X settings, resetting all to default, but finally, “…windowsupdateagent30-x86.e xe” /wuforce from Run was my solution. THANK YOU! -iii< John
