So a couple of folks have been reporting in the listserves that their clients have been getting a message indicating that a server upgrade will take place and to install the SSL update. Given that this is the patch Tuesday week, it would probably be a good idea to remind your client base that you don’t send them links to install like this. Remind them of what your emails look like.
I don’t know whether MS Security Essentials is a replacement for Live OneCare but I wouldn’t worry about it. I was on the beta for Security Essentials and frankly, I won’t recommend it to my clients. It may be a fine antivirus but I don’t like its updating mechanism since it doesn’t follow industry-standard procedure but rather uses Windows Update instead

Hi: All my clients show as reporting except one: a laptop. It’s last report date was about a month ago. The client diag tool run on that client shows: WSUS Client Diagnostics Tool Checking Machine State Checking for admin rights to run tool .
Because of the wide affect of this, the gpo is set to disable windows updates for all of our production sites until 7.4 is available to be put on the WSUS server so the clients can self update since the problem still appears with 7.1 and there is no good way to deploy the 7.2 version out to the production

The latest “Rollup for ActiveX Killbits for Windows†( KB960715 ) is causing problems for some third party applications that are dependent on the disabled controls.
