I don’t know whether MS Security Essentials is a replacement for Live OneCare but I wouldn’t worry about it. I was on the beta for Security Essentials and frankly, I won’t recommend it to my clients. It may be a fine antivirus but I don’t like its updating mechanism since it doesn’t follow industry-standard procedure but rather uses Windows Update instead
