just today now. I got a notice in my taskbar that there’s a new update. when I click to open it the page is blank except in the middle it says: “page failed to open”.

PC BSOD During IE8 Update, Now Cannot Install

My new PC crashed (BSOD) in the middle of a Windows Update (IE8) and now I can’t seem to run WU again to install it – it says “a newer version of IE is on the system”. It looks like the install was corrupted. How can I fully remove this corrupted IE8 install and start the update again

I attempted to install the new windows update agent, per your instructions, by using /wuforce in the command prompt.

Hi again, Good news!! I have a hotfix from MS for testing that fixes the issue. I had one document where I could reproduce the problem, and with the hotfix installed it prints just fine. Without the hotfix, the spooler crashes, even with the latest HP UPD 5.0 driver.
