MS09-002 IE Exploit in the wild

Several security sites are highlighting MS09-002 exploits in the wild.  while this is an attack on Internet Explorer security , this malware attack is embedded in a malicious Word document to potentially trick individuals. It is anticipated that other forms of attack on unpatched systems will continue to surface as this bulletin has a high exploitability rating.

Microsoft, Symantec, ICANN, Neustar, Verisign, CNNIC, Afilias, Public Internet Registry, Global Domains International Inc., M1D Global, AOL, F-Secure, ISC, researchers from Georgia Tech, The Shadowserver Foundation, Arbor Networks, and Support Intelligence formed a coalition to target the group or person(s) behind Downadup/Conficker infection that infects large numbers of users worldwide. Thanks to Chris Puckett and his team for working on this to get a resolution.  We have seen this primarily with Trend Micro (our primary anti-virus product) but it is happening with any product using TDI, so if you are getting similar behavior from your server(s), get this hotfix !  See the SBS blog post .
