Earlier today, Core Security Technologies issued a security advisory for our Virtual PC (VPC) software. The advisory calls out a proof of concept where the virtual machine monitor allows memory pages above the 2GB level to be read from or written to by user-space programs running within a guest operating system. The advisory explicitly calls into question the effectiveness of many of the security hardening features of Windows, including DEP, SafeSEH, and ASLR

It *WOULD* solve the problem but the hotfix applies to business and ultimate versions only. MS’ solution is to upgrade to business or ultimate and then apply the hotfix.

Hello Jimmie, As stated in the top of the article it applies to both OS versions. So if you have exact the same symptoms as described order the hotfix and install it.

Can’t delete folder

When I try to delete a folder in the my music folder of my documents, I get the error: “The action can’t be completed because the folder is open in another program. Close the folder & try again.” I have tried deleting the folder in safe mode. I have installed the hotfix from KB 949857

Temporary Folder(s) not deleted after Hotfix

I’m using Windows XP Home (SP2)… Windows Update installed Hotfix KB954550-v5 and suggested my computer reboot. After rebooting and checking C:/ drive the hotfix’s temporary directory c:/1ec5d64c33d393f6cb3c0897155 f77 containing all of the hotfix’s files were still there

Hi again, Good news!! I have a hotfix from MS for testing that fixes the issue. I had one document where I could reproduce the problem, and with the hotfix installed it prints just fine. Without the hotfix, the spooler crashes, even with the latest HP UPD 5.0 driver.

Hi, Looks like the log you provided is not for KB960089, but is for sql server 2005 RTM. Could you provide the following file? What’s more, you said you manual install the hotfix.
