I have a Laptop(running Windows Vista Home Basic),I am the sole User,and according to my ‘User Account’ page,I AM the Administrator. I can get Windows Updates,no problem,the problem arises,when I try to access ‘Microsoft Updates’,I am informed that access can only be granted to the Administrator,and a error number(0×8DDD0002)

Mohd, What OS is this client running? What version of the Windows Update Agent is installed (this will appear in the WindowsUpdate.log)? Is the same thing happening for multiple clients, or just one

Note that wuauclt.exe is not itself a service, although it is launched by the Automatic Updates (or Windows Updates on Vista/W7) service under certain circumstances. It can be launched in other ways too.

My laptop running Windows XP SP3 is configured to automatically install updates. For quite some time now, Windows Update is trying to install an update to .NET each time i shut down. Each time it fails.

I have also had an expirience with this reg entry It is located at in the reg under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/COMPONENTS/ Installers/SDTable I have deleted this entry on a couple of occasions I have also done a clean install and config as well as run killdisk to wipe my drive and it continues to install itself.

I have also had an expirience with this reg entry It is located at in the reg under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/COMPONENTS/ Installers/SDTable I have deleted this entry on a couple of occasions I have also done a clean install and config as well as run killdisk to wipe my drive and it continues to install itself. It indicates itself as being a windows update but I did not give permission for this update to be installed and there is no entry in my update history to show this update when this entry first appeared I had SpyBot installed on my system but the entry appears to be going in on boot prior to windows

80070005 is an Access Denied message.
